The World Conference On Genitourinary Cancers 2025 Wins The Eventex Award for Best Medical Congress

About

IDEOlogy Health’s World Conference On Genitourinary Cancers is a reimagined medical congress that blends rigorous science with music and meaningful human connection. Hosted at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, this event transformed education into an anticipated experience for physicians.

Innovation & Creativity

The World Conference On Genitourinary Cancers challenged the traditional medical congress by designing an emotionally resonant, learner-centered experience that fused science with storytelling, culture, and play.

Innovative elements included:

  • Unexpected venue design: Hosted at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, the conference used Nashville’s musical heritage to reframe scientific exchange as storytelling. Rather than an expected hotel ballroom like other medical conferences, this environment was inspiring, and a destination attendees looked forward to visiting, adding a unique backdrop that reinforced the scientific research.
  • Music as a connective tool: We wove live musical performances throughout the program, including surprise appearances from patient guest stars, creating shared emotional moments rarely seen in medical education. Since music is proven to enhance learning by activating multiple areas of the brain, improving memory retention, focus, and emotional engagement, it was a key piece in making this conference unique and driving meaningful knowledge recall.
  • Purpose-driven partnership: In addition, a collaboration with the non-profit Musicians On Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to patients’ bedsides, connected the conference to the local community and reinforced IDEOlogy Health’s belief that medicine and providers need to focus on the humanity of clinical care.
  • Gamified education: World GU-Pardy!, which is a play on the classic Jeopardy game show, transformed clinical learning into a high-energy competition and debate, increasing knowledge retention while encouraging peer interaction across experience levels.
  • Inspirational keynote: A four-time Olympian delivered a powerful story of resilience that mirrored the emotional realities of cancer care, aligning personal perseverance with professional purpose.

Rather than separating education and experience, this medical congress intentionally blended academic rigor with joy, emotion, and collaboration, demonstrating that even the most specialized scientific communities thrive when learning feels human first.

Objectives, Planning & Execution

Challenge the perception of continuing medical education as just a requirement? Welcome to the World Conference On Genitourinary Cancers –– a medical congress that physicians genuinely looked forward to attending. One that fostered meaningful connection, multidisciplinary collaboration, and lasting educational impact within the genitourinary cancer community.

Planning began with a learner-centered mindset, using direct feedback from the conference’s inaugural year to shape the second annual conference. The agenda was intentionally refined to balance content across the three major GU tumor types while emphasizing integrated panel discussions that reflect how to deliver care in the real world. Experts from medical oncology, urology, radiation oncology, pathology, and surgery were brought together to encourage dialogue, shared perspectives, and cross-specialty learning. This multi-disciplinary connection isn’t standard in these kinds of CME learning environments, but the IDEOlogy Health team wanted to foster more dialogue between these groups to reinforce learning and help them bring new ideas back to their practices.

Execution focused on designing an environment that sustained engagement from start to finish. Interactive formats, including gamified learning and live music, were woven throughout the program to reinforce attention, memory retention, and peer participation. The conference also expanded its investment in future leaders through increased Fellow involvement, featuring 18 poster award recipients and dedicated Fellows & Faculty Breakfast sessions that supported mentorship and professional growth.

Every element was curated to maximize educational value while creating moments of inspiration, joy, and connection. By blending rigorous science with intentional experience design and emotional relevance, the conference delivered an experience that was not only informative but deeply human-centered.

Effectiveness & Results

The World GU conference successfully exceeded its objectives: survey data showed a 96% overall satisfaction score and 71 NPS.

Measurable gains in clinical knowledge across sessions: Pre- and post-survey comparisons show a greater proportion of participants selecting correct, guideline-aligned answers. Post-survey findings demonstrated improved understanding of risk stratification tools, biomarker testing, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evolving treatment standards in cancer care. The changes in responses suggest that learners strengthened their evidence-based decision-making skills and increased their confidence in applying emerging data in clinical practice.

Expanded multidisciplinary engagement: Increased representation across medical oncology, urology, radiation oncology, pathology, and surgery strengthened collaboration across the GU care ecosystem. One attendee said, “World GU is special because it’s a way for us to come together, as a community, to talk about and think through ways to optimize the care of our patients.” Another attendee pointed out: “This meeting [is unique because it] really focuses on our other partners – what do the surgeons think? What do the radiation folks think? It’s phenomenal!”

Stronger future-leader pipeline: 18 poster award winners and dedicated Fellow programming demonstrated measurable growth in trainee engagement. One attendee said, “I think one of the things that stands out to me for World GU is the size of the conference. I think having an intimate setting where we can talk to our peers, interface with industry, and with trainees has been a wonderful way to get talking about the future of GU oncology!”

Deeper emotional impact: Live music, patient participation, gamified learning, and an inspirational keynote created a conference atmosphere that attendees described as memorable and energizing. Feedback shared: “The venue and environment were amazing,” and “Great mixture of education and entertainment.”
